THE Housing Board on Thursday launched two more new Built-To-Order (BTO) projects in Jurong West and Yishun, which will offer 1,050 flats.
Boon Lay Grove in Jurong West Avenue 2 will have 450 flats, comprising 300 four-room and and 150 five-room units, while Floral Spring@Yishun along Yishun Avenue 11, will offer 600 units, comprising 96 studio apartments, 264 four room and 240 five-room flats.
The HDB said 95 per cent of these flats will be set aside for first-timers.
The latest BTO projects bring the total of such flats for sale to the public to 6,132 units.
To keep public housing affordable for first-time homebuyers, new HDB flats are priced below their equivalent market prices, said the Board in a statement on Thursday. The market prices take into account the prices of resale flats in the area, adjusted for factors such as location, flat attributes, project design and prevailing market conditions, as determined by professional valuers.
Prices of the Boon Lay Grove flats range from $239,000 for a four-room unit to $358,000 for a five-room flat. At Flora Spring, the prices start from $64,000 for a studio apartment to $332,000 for a five-room unit.
To ensure an adequate supply of new flats, HDB plans to launch at least 12,000 new BTO flats by September, and more if there is demand.
The upcoming projects will have a good geographical spread, covering areas such as Bukit Panjang, Punggol, Sengkang and Woodlands.
In June, flat buyers can look forward to the launch of about 2,400 BTO flats in Punggol and Sengkang, including the first public housing parcel along the Punggol waterway.-ST
